Is there anything as lovely as the first coffee of the day?

It’s my greatest joy in the morning. Stepping into my cottage kitchen, switching on my little thrifted lamp for a cosy glow and then turning on my Delonghi Coffee machine. I wander over to the kitchen dresser and decide which cup I’ll use today.

Then I take my floral tins from the shelf where I keep my lavazza ground coffee. I spoon the rich ground coffee into the basket and click the portafilter into place.

As soon as the light is on I turn the dial to coffee and in seconds the kitchen is filled with the most divine scent of fresh coffee. There’s honestly nothing like it. For me I tend to prefer an americano, which this machine makes perfectly with a delicious crema too. If you are more into your flat white or cappuccino, there’s a discreet and easy to use milk frother on the machine. Honestly it’s such a dinky machine but has all you need to make delicious coffees at home, without spending a fortune on a high end machine.

One of the things I really love about this machine is that it automatically turns off too. Perfect for that menopausal memory loss! You can remove the drip tray as well, to allow for taller glasses or mugs to be used. The milk frother is much more discreet, but also easier to use than my previous model too.
All I need to know now is how you like yours? And more importantly, how do you like your coffee served? Are you a mug or cup person? Always a cup for me. Always.

Here’s a link to the machine I bought. It’s a Delonghi Espresso Machine and I bought mine from Amazon.
