Learn how to use your sewing machine to it’s full potential A warm welcome awaits you at the cottage. Just bring yourself, your sewing machine and let’s get stitching
Description
Sewing Machine Bootcamp one to one (Adults only)
I am truly passionate about encouraging people to sew, to be creative and make things with love, to be loved. I’m all about creating more rather than consuming more. Making things to be treasured and not to be trashed.
I warmly invite you to my cottage nestled in the countryside, just outside Roscommon town, to switch off and get lost in a day of creativity.
Tea/coffee/cake will be on rotation. Just bring a packed lunch.
This is the ultimate workshop to get to know your sewing machine and how to use it to it’s full potential. Spend the day with me at the cottage getting to grips with your sewing machine and making something you love. Previous attendees have gone on to make bags, clothes, toys, cushions, curtains and many have started their own sewing business.
With the cost of living crisis in full swing now is the time to get that sewing machine out of the box and learn how to make your own home furnishings, mend your own clothes and even make some money from doing it. But before we do that we need to know how to use our sewing machine, and all it’s attachments, properly. That’s what this day is all about. That and switching off, getting creative and having fun.
Learn how to use your sewing machine to it’s full potential
During the day you will learn how to use your sewing machine to its full potential. How to correctly thread your machine, load bobbins, change stitches, change feet, sew hems, ruffles, zig zags, buttons, button holes and zips and lots lots more. You will also learn how to troubleshoot common sewing machine issues, tension, fabric cathing in machine, changing needles and cleaning.
You can of course find all this online for free, if you want to spend hours and most likely, weeks, trawling through videos or you can book a day with me in the cottage and learn it all in one sitting, with your own machine, and with me on standby to answer your questions and help you where needed. All you have to do is bring your sewing machine and I’ll show you the rest.

What previous attendees have said about this workshop
Michelle, where do I start. It was the most joyful day and you were so welcoming in your gorgeous cottage. I have been sewing all weekend since I left your house. You were right about it being addictive.
I had to say thanks a million for a great day. Himself is only delighted that I can now hem his trousers. I’ll have to start charging.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’ve already started making money Michelle. Thank you to your encouragement I’m finally doing what I’ve always wanted. I honestly could not have done this without all your help and advice.
I have followed you for years and always dreamed of spending a day at your cottage and I can honestly say it was beyond expectations. You should be charging double. The sewing machine is a permanent fixture on the kitchen table and I dumped the box as soon as I got home.
